Dream of Gossip in the Church
God speaks in many ways, one of my favorite ways is when He speaks to me through dreams. Some I wake up and know immediately that it was Him and what it means. Other times I seek His wisdom in prayer for days or weeks regarding the interpretation. Either way, I praise Him in gratitude for making sure that I hear Him loud and clear. He is so gracious and I am so thankful.
“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days." Joel 2:28-29 (NIV)
I believe that He speaks to me so often in my dreams because I suffered with horrible nightmares from the enemy as a child. I hated sleep and avoided it at night till I was almost 30. Christ has taken back the ground that the devil meant for evil and is using it for good in my life, now I LOVE sleep and go to bed wondering what He will speak to me next!
Years ago when I was a brand new Christian, I had a feeling that I was a contributor to gossip in the church but I kept justifying it away with this excuse or that excuse. Having an inkling that what I was feeling was His conviction, I prayed for clarification and in His grace, He gave me a dream.

I, at my current age, was wandering around in an old, very creepy high school with friends. I knew something was not right but didn't know what. The halls were all empty and the atmosphere gray and eerily void of light, only we could see everything. We couldn't leave until we figured out what was wrong so we kept searching. As we reached the second floor, two double doors opened into what looked like double sized art type classroom. To my shock and horror there were bodies bound from head to toe hanging from the ceiling. Probably 30 or more. Each was dead, eyes open and staring directly at me, a perfect X of duct tape over their mouths. Instantly I knew that gossip had put them there, but they were not the offenders they were the victims and I the one who was guilty of the deathblow of GOSSIP.

Gossip isn't just a problem for high schoolers, if we are not careful we will be a guilty party of inviting its evil inside the church under the guise of 'prayer requests' where it's given authority to seek, kill and destroy.
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. Proverbs 18:21 (NLT)
God is merciful and GREAT and goes to magnificent measures to make sure we are not left in the sin that separates us from Him. From the sacrifice of His Son Jesus on the cross to chasing us in our sleep, the evidence of His love toward us and His merciful forgiveness when we repent is undeniable. Just ask Him...
