The incredible little adrenal glands affect metabolism, blood pressure, the immune system, hormones and the body's response to stress. Our adrenal glands sit on top of our kidneys and, along with the parathyroid glands, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, pancreas, ovaries (in females) and testicles (in males), the adrenal glands are part of the endocrine system. This system produces hormones that control just about every function in the body. Healthy adrenals are a must for your wellbeing.
After 15 years of major stress in my life my adrenals shut down and I was more ill than I had ever been. It was a major wake up call and what the Lord used to ignite my passion for healing using His plants along with inner healing and deliverance even further.
When my adrenals shut down the result was severe panic attacks, insomnia, racing thoughts and more. In other words, lack of peace.
It's very interesting to note that in scripture the PEACE offering mentions the fat on the kidneys, which many believe refers to the ADRENALS.
"From the peace offering he is to bring an offering made by fire to the LORD: the fat that covers the entrails, all the fat that is on them, both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the kidneys." Leviticus 3:3-4
