The Warfare at Work in Wonder Woman

Do you know the origins of the Wonder Woman character? When the new movie came out I thought I would be going to see it. I love movies, (or rather, I used to. They all disappoint these days and I can't tell you how many I have turned off in the first few minutes over the last year.) Almost as soon as I thought about seeing the movie, the Lord spoke-"Did you know that she is supposed to be the offspring of Greek gods?"

I did not know that so I looked it up to see if it was just my imagination (ha!) or if that was indeed a word of knowledge. I found it was truth....

Wonder Woman 2017

From Vanity Fair -"When the film begins, as far as Diana knows, she’s the only daughter of the Amazonian Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) and was formed by her mother from a lump of clay. This is also the story of Diana’s birth in the 1941 comic and recalls classic origin stories from both Hellenic mythology and the Bible. But the comic book version of Diana was never merely an athletic lump of clay who looked great in a swimsuit; she was always given divine gifts from that gods that made her: “Beautiful as Aphrodite, wise as Athena, swifter than Hermes, and stronger than Hercules.” Her accessories—the shield, the lasso, and the bracelets—are also divinely powerful. In every sense of the word, this original version of Princess Diana is gifted."

The Golden Calf This is disgusting to me. This is false worship in the truest sense. I decided right then and there that I would not be seeing this movie. How could I? As a woman who loves the Lord Jesus Christ- the King of Kings and only true God, who spends my days teaching others how to overcome the kingdom of darkness and live in the freedom and holiness of the Lord, how could I possibly choose to entertain glorified stories of demonic gods? Why am I seeing so many Christians praising this movie and character? Are we really so desensitized that if a demonic goddess acts kind, compassionate, strong, and moral we forget who our Lord is and start worshiping the goddess? Can you say golden calf? Why am I finally speaking out? I have kept quiet until now. So many times I thought about speaking up yet walked away in silence as I saw others who love the Lord singing Wonder Woman's praises. But today I can not hold my tongue any longer. I am truly saddened and at a loss for what in the world is going on with God's people. I just saw a well known preacher calling women to rise up in some kind of feminine force to bring revival to the nation of America. As he excitedly promoted his all woman event in DC he too started gushing over Wonder Woman as he and his interviewer waxed on about how Hollywood is more prophetic than the church and that the Wonder Woman movie was a great example of this because they know that now is the time for women to rise up and use their power. Unbelievable and truly disturbing. I am truly sorry Father God. Please forgive us. Remember the Women's March This comes only months after the women's March where women channeled Liltih, Ashtoreth and Jezebel spirits with a twisted agenda to control the direction of the nation through seduction, hatred and manipulation. (Read more on the warfare at work behind feminism here.) This new march isn't a counter to the first, it is the same thing with a twist. Calling something Christian doesn't make it so. Anytime there is a call for one of the genders to rise up in power there is something evil at work. In God's awesome love He created the sexes in perfect balance to compliment and help each other. Satan counterfeits on both ends of this spectrum by erasing gender lines altogether, or convincing each that they are more powerful or important that the other and that autonomy is good and necessary. We as Christ followers should know better than to fall for either of the enemy's attempts to steal God's plan for gender balance. Does God call women to Kingdom work? YES. Does He call them to 'rise up' alone as some kind of feminine force? Not that I can find in scripture. In fact, this is what I read in God's word. The virtuous woman is not out in the square loudly proclaiming her power as she rises up with other women. She is quietly working, in wisdom and strength to honor the Lord, her husband and her family. She did not need to march with other women and proclaim that now was her time, rather she was noticed by the Lord as she exuded quiet power to accomplish all He had called her to do at home, in the marketplace, in the field, etc. Her reward was great in Him. Her quiet strength so awesome that her children sing her praises. She is as bold, wise and emotionally strong as any man, yet all the more because she isn't out talking about and flaunting it-she is just doing it. The stories we read of Esther, Deborah and of other women in God's word always have them working along with men in one way or another. They do not ever flaunt their femininity as if it is something to be heralded. What of the call for REVIVAL? Revival happens when intercessors go behind a closed door and lie on their face in humility for no one to see. (See 2 Chronicles 7:14) Never have we seen revival from people 'rising up' and marching in the streets. It is not women who save the day-but the Lord. Do you want to make a difference as a woman in God's kingdom? Great, so do I! How do we do that? We ask Him for a daily assignment and we are obedient to it no matter what. Whether that be to pray quietly, preach, write, cook for our family, visit a neighbor, go on mission across the world, pamper our husband, clean toilets at the church, whatever... THAT is how we will change the world. It will not be by some big 'We are Christian women, hear us roar!'-march. If the Wonder Woman movie is prophetic, it is a FALSE prophecy. We are to partner with the men of God to bring His kingdom come in humility, not see ourselves as some kind of super savior force that is equipped to save the day because of our femininity. That is witchcraft. Eve was deceived by satan as he tempted her with the idea that she could be like a god yet everyone is overlooking that this is the appeal of Wonder Woman. (For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods. Genesis 3:5, emphasis mine) Women everywhere are captivated by her and her godlike morality, strength, wisdom and power. Women everywhere are longing to be like her and holding her up as the new role model to their daughters! Does no one else see the correlation? Please tell me I am not alone... Let's continue this conversation on facebook... Proverbs 31:10-31King James Version (KJV) 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
